A stylish first floor duplex apartment, set in an elegant manor house, providing a peaceful setting for an escape to the Isle of Wight with family or friends. comprising of two large second floor bedrooms, one a master bedroom with king size bed, Smart TV en-suite and the second a twin bedroom, served by a family bathroom. On the lower floor, you have an open plan area with wonderful high ceilings. The bay fronted living area is spacious with a dual aspect, giving views across the communal grounds parkland and hillside beyond. The room has a sofa, armchairs and Smart TV as well as a dining area with table and four chairs The well equipped kitchen includes a slimline dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave.
Shanklin Manor dates back to the Doomsday Book and has previously been a house and farm, being the home to the various Lords of the Shanklin Manor for many years. In recent years it has been extensively renovated and restored to bring it back to its former glory.
The Manor House is set within communal grounds and is surrounded by Shanklin Cricket Club and the Big Meade Park, where you'll find open grassland a duck pond and children’s play area, Finally, the historic St Blasius’ Church can be found at the entrance to Shanklin Manor, which was the former church to the manor and dates back to 12th century.

LOCATION:
Old Shanklin town is within a 10 minute walk, with various pubs and restaurants and Shanklin Theatre, Also there's Shanklin Chine with waterfalls streams and rare plants.
The main town can be reached in fifteen minutes and offers a multitude of shops cafes, bars and restaurants to entertain all ages and tastes. It is well served by public transport with regular bus services to reach all parts of the Island and the railway 'Island Line' to Sandown and Ryde.
The extensive sandy beach at Shanklin is a 15 minute walk away and there is a lift during the main season. There's a variety of amusements, including crazy golf, arcades and ice cream stalls.
Within easy reach of the apartment are an abundance of footpaths, for walks through woodland and the surrounding countryside. Alternatively, hop on a bike from the local bike hire and peddle along the 32 miles that make up the Red Squirrel cycle path, part of which follows the old steam railway line.
Over half this beautiful island is protected as an Area of Outstanding Nature Beauty, so why not take a day to explore some of the stunning scenery by driving along the Military Road. Travel west from Shanklin, through Ventnor, a coastal town that clings to the cliff side and was famously the preferred holiday destination for aspiring Victorians; perhaps stopping on route to get lost in the peaceful Ventnor Botanic Gardens. The final destination being Freshwater Bay, with its sparkly, clear water and breath-taking views from the cliff top walks. Park in the Bay and walk up to Tennyson's monument and to really blow the cobwebs out, continue to the most western point of the island and the landmark Needles. The birds eye view is worth the hike and refreshments are on hand at the Old Battery, which was the Victorian coastal defence and secret rocket testing site, perched above The Needles. Dropping down the other side of the Tennyson down, Alum Bay comes into view. The twenty-one different coloured sands create a distinctive backdrop for the shingle beach. For those with a head for heights, take the chairlift up and down to the beach, to see The Needles from a difference perspective.
Out of the many other island attractions, why not follow in the footsteps of Queen Victoria and visit her favourite summer residence. Osborne House and gardens was designed in the style of an Italian Renaissance palazzo by the Queen’s beloved husband Prince Albert. In contrast, a day spent at Blackgang Chine will ensure you a rather different Victorian experience; having opened in 1843, it remains the oldest themed attraction in the UK.

Bathroom: P shaped bath with electric shower over and separate shower attachment, low level wc, feature wash basin, shaving point and heated towel rail.
OUTSIDE
Allocated parking for 1 car to the front of the house, visitor spaces are available, on a first come first served basis.

PLEASE NOTE: a pre-authorised, refundable, security deposit of £150 will be required before arrival at the property. No money will be taken, unless any damage is reported at the property within 14 days of your departure.
There is no electric car charger on site.

A lovely apartment, beautifully equipped with everything you could possibly need. A short walk to Shanklin old town, shops, park and beach. A return visit is definitely required!

You'll struggle to find a better apartment on the Isle of Wight and Shanklin old village is such beautiful place. My wife and I have been to the island about 12 times over the years this is the best accommodation we've had it's an absolute treasure.
