General conditions
HOLIDAY LET TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions.
1) Booking Process
A contract between you and the owner will come into existence when payment is received, and a booking confirmation is issued showing the confirmed holiday dates. The contract binds you and all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms and conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract & loss of the booking.
2) Payments
You will be asked to pay a non-refundable booking fee at the time of booking.
A 20% deposit of the holiday cost is payable at the time of booking which includes your non-refundable booking fee. Bookings made less than eight weeks before your arrival date must be paid in full.
The balance must be paid no later than eight weeks before the commencement of your holiday. If the balance is not received by the due date, then your holiday will be treated as a cancellation, and you will remain liable to pay the balance of the holiday cost.
3) Refundable Security Deposit
A security deposit a minimum of £150 (unless otherwise stated) is required and will be pre-authorised against your debit or credit card on the day of arrival and will be aborted 14 working days after your departure date. The deposit will be held against damage, breakages and extra cleaning if necessary.
4) Cancellations / Insurance
Once the deposit and booking fee has been paid and the booking has been confirmed you are liable for all charges against the booking as a binding contract has been deemed. All cancellations must be notified in writing to The Island Holiday Company. If you cancel your holiday more than sixty days before it is due to start, then your deposit will be refunded less the non-refundable booking fee. If you cancel more than 30 days before the holiday, then 50% will be refunded less the non-refundable booking fee. If you cancel less than 29 days before the holiday the full balance remains due and is not refundable.
We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellations. If you choose not to, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
5) Bookings
No parties or events allowed and under no circumstances is it allowed for the maximum number of persons stated in the property description to be exceeded at any time. We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without refund and the whole of the Security Deposit will automatically be forfeited in case of a breach of this condition.
Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age.
We reserve the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
6) Occupation
Guests can normally take up occupancy at 4:00pm unless otherwise stated please check your arrival information and guests are required to vacate the rental by 10:00am on the day of departure. This allows the accommodation to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests. We reserve the right to make a charge to cover additional costs arising from late check out these additional costs will be taken from your refundable security deposit.
6a) The Island Holiday Company cannot be held liable for any matters arising from the condition or cleanliness of the holiday accommodation upon arrival. Whilst every effort is made to present the accommodation to a high standard as possible, it is not always possible to meet everyone’s expectations.
6b) Neither to owner nor the agent is liable for problems outside their control, such as breakdowns of domestic appliances in the accommodation, grounds or hot tub/pool although every effort will be made to rectify the problems as soon as possible.
6c) No compensation will be given for any temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, internet connection or television services.
6d) The owner nor the agent is responsible for any loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest.
6e) Neither to owner nor the agent can accept responsibility for work taking place outside the boundary of the property nor any noise or nuisance arising from works or actions over which the Agent or the Owner have no control.
6f) You may in no circumstance re-let or sublet the property, even free of charge.
6g) Candles are not allowed inside the house.
6h) We or our representatives reserve the right to enter the property at any time to undertake essential maintenance or for inspection purposes.
6i) Pets (if not allowed) smoking, e-cigarettes and vaping anywhere inside the accommodation will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments and refundable security deposit. This must be strictly adhered to, and any damage or extra cleaning caused by pets or smoking will be at the expense of you.
7) Pets
Pets (only on permissible properties)
-Only 1 pets are allowed at one time (unless otherwise stated). There is a charge of £35 per pet per week.
-Please don’t let pets onto the furniture, especially sofas and beds
-Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Any garden clearing required, will be chargeable to guests if not carried out.
-Guests are required to bring their own dog bedding, towels and blankets.
8) Damage
In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you, pets or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result.
8a) Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. If you notice something is missing or damaged in your accommodation, please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action.
8b) If there has been any damage or breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could report them promptly, especially before check-out.
The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday & you may be charged for any loss or damage.
8c) Please do not move any furniture from one room to another.
Please remove shoes before entering the accommodation.
Please lock the doors and close the windows when you leave the property unoccupied.
Please make sure you switch off lights, heating, air conditioning or any electrical appliances when you go out – we’re an eco-friendly holiday company.
We reserve the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if you leave the property in an unacceptable condition.
Please note that if any keys issued are not returned at the end of your stay, then the cost of replacement or lock change will be charged to you.
9) Complaints
We hope that all guests booking holidays with us have an enjoyable time. In the event of a problem, you must contact The Island Holiday Company on the day of arrival or a soon as the problem arises, and we will do our best to resolve the problem by referring to the owner. Please Note: Complaints will not be considered unless raised immediately during the course of your stay to enable the complaint to be verified.
9a) All complaints and requests for refunds or compensation must be made in writing to The Island Holiday Company stating your holiday dates and the property name. This will be forwarded to the owner of the property for their consideration. As an agent we cannot make any refunds or compensation payments without the authority of the owner.
10) Ferry
We will act as Agents on behalf of you for ferry reservations. Neither us as Agents nor the Owner will accept any liability for loss or inconvenience caused or incurred in the event of the ferry operator delaying your departure or cancelling your reservation.
11) Parking
Please park your vehicles in the designated parking space, ensuring cars do not block access to other properties.
12) Marketing
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the description of each property on our website, all information is given in good faith and is believed to be correct at the time of publishing. Neither the agent nor the owner can accept responsibility for errors or omissions. In respect of advertising via third party web portals / organisations, The Island Holiday Company is unable to accept liability for the accuracy and content of these advertisements. There may be small differences between the actual property description. This is usually because the owner and agent are always aiming to improve services and facilities and information can be updated on the property which may not always filter through to the affiliated sites.
13) Termination
We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others.
14) Additional Information
Your booking will not be cancelled by the owner except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification will be given of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
